They chose to challenge Daring Cooks to make their own nut butter from scratch, and use the nut butter in a savory recipe.<\/p>\n<p>It looks like stroganoff with tofu, and it could be.<\/p>\n<p>One 14 ounce package of tofu, cubed<br \/>\n1 recipe of <a href=\"http:\/\/recipes.cuppylicious.net\/?p=936\" target=\"_blank\">pecan butter<\/a> (about 1\/2 cup)<br \/>\n1 cup heavy cream, or more for a thinner sauce<br \/>\n1\/2 large onion, finely chopped<br \/>\n2 Tbsp vegetable oil<br \/>\n1 tsp minced garlic, or to taste<br \/>\nsalt and pepper to taste<br \/>\nsage, thyme, or rosemary (optional)<\/p>\n<p>Mix pecan butter and heavy cream in a food processor or blender (or whisk until smooth). Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Heat the oil in a large saucepan over high heat. Cook the onion 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, then lower the heat to medium-high until well browned (about 5 minutes). Add pecan cream and any herb seasonings, and bring just to a boil.<\/p>\n<p>Salt and pepper to taste. Serve over rice or noodles.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Try it with meat instead of tofu.
