{"id":380,"date":"2009-07-10T09:25:05","date_gmt":"2009-07-10T16:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/recipes.cuppylicious.net\/?p=380"},"modified":"2011-08-29T01:11:10","modified_gmt":"2011-08-29T08:11:10","slug":"texas-mom-bread-pudding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes.cuppylicious.net\/?p=380","title":{"rendered":"Texas Mom Bread Pudding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Total time:\u00a0 2 hours, plus overnight to stale your bread.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of sugar and a hint of brandy, make sure you have lots of time available to do this one.<\/p>\n<p>Via my friend Luke.<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n2 cups granulated sugar<br \/>\n5 large beaten eggs<br \/>\n2 cups milk<br \/>\n2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract<br \/>\n3 cups cubed Italian bread, allowed to stale overnight in a bowl<br \/>\n1 cup packed light brown sugar<br \/>\n1\/4 cup butter, softened<br \/>\n1 cup chopped pecans<\/p>\n<p>For the Sauce:<br \/>\n1 cup granulated sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 cup butter, softened<br \/>\n1 egg, beaten<br \/>\n2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract<br \/>\n1\/4 cup brandy<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<br \/>\nPreheat the oven to 350 degrees Farenheit. Grease a 13 inch by 9 inch by 2 inch pan.<\/p>\n<p>Mix together granulated sugar, eggs, and milk in a bowl; add vanilla. pour over cubed bread and let sit for 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In another bowl, mix and crumble together brown sugar, butter, and pecans.<\/p>\n<p>Pour bread mixture into prepared pan. sprinkle brown sugar mixture over the top and bake for 35 &#8211; 45 minutes or until set. remove from oven.<\/p>\n<p>For the Sauce:<br \/>\nMix together the granulated sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat. stir together until the sugar is melted. add the brandy, stirring well. pour over bread pudding.
